We use a good range of primers to suit all jobs. The general purpose primer is a wet area latex based primer (milky substance) for internal use priming over concrete and many other substrates- mainly wet areas bathrooms, laundries and toilets. Basic epoxy is a waterbased two-pack epoxy suitable for waterproofing priming and sealing. We use this epoxy for optimum priming adhesion to plastics, metals and many non porous substrates . When and why do we use epoxy for priming? They are both 2 part mixes (Part A epoxy resin & Part B polyamine adduct hardener). For example Hydro Static Epoxy is a water based epoxy primer/sealer/membrane, used for concrete, masonry, and other cementitious substrates. 

Hydro Static Epoxy has no odour and can be applied over green concrete (screed 7 days & concrete 28 days or less.) The product forms an excellent binder for dusty and eroded concrete surfaces. It can resist hydrostatic pressure up to 30 metres of water (390 micron DCT - 3.0sm / litre.) Prevents rising dampness and the formation of efflorescence. 3 coats of this is your perfect barrier for negative waterproofing.
